Frx Operating System

Posted By Anonymous

Client was running Mas200 v4.05 and Frx 6.5 installed locally on a machine with Windows XP Home Edition Service pack 3.

They upgraded to Mas200 v4.3 and wanted to install FRX 6.7.  It will not install on the local machine.  I did see some documentation that Windows XP Professional service pack 1 was a requirement for 6.7, but I cannot believe there is such a difference that 6.5 would work and 6.7 would not.  The installation does pass System requirements, goes through copying a bunch of files and then ends with an Install Assist fatal error.  The machine does not recognize the software as installed.

Just checking if anyone else ran into this problem.

  • Let's see, you have stated thay have Windows XP Home Edition and noted that FRx 6.7 needs XP Professional as a requirement. Don't know but that could be the source of your problems.   Note that I do not think that the Home Edition is supported with MAS200.

Thank you for your response.  We were successful in installing FRX on a machine with Service Pack 2 of the Windows XP Home edition and later on a  machine with Windows XP Home edition Service Pack 3.  There is some problem with the first PC we were loading on. They replaced that PC.

We probably would have give up without your response.
