Automated Print Sheet Printing

We are running MAS ver 4.4008 and would like to find a way to automate our print sheet printing.  We have the Custom Office and VI modules and I was wondering if someone knows how these could be used.  I know about customizations that exist but we stay away from these.  Any suggestions or would some like to take on this project?

Thanks,

Daniel A.

Are you asking about picking sheet printing?  If so, this is already a feature of Sage 100.  When you enter a sales order there is a checkbox value for if a picking sheet has been printed for this order.  Generally a company will enter orders until a certain point when they want to print the picking sheets and then they print all picking sheets where the checkbox value is false for picking sheet already printed.  I don't believe you need Custom Office or VI for this.  Is that what you were hoping for?

    Hi Tyler:

I'm looking for an automated solution where pick sheets for our web orders print automatically to our warehouse (we print pick sheets all day long for our retail store and web business now).  We are using Insync to synchronize our eCommerce site with MAS and we print batches of pick sheets.  We would like to automate this process so pick sheets for a specific department print by themselves.

I'm traveling right now and may not answer right away but I would appreciate any guidance

    Thanks,

    Daniel

This could be done with Sage Knowledgesync.  Ask your reseller.

    Hi Tom:

Thanks for the suggestion.  I will definitely look into it.

I was hoping that with my current modules there could be a solution.  I'm would prefer not to add another layer to a complicated business model.  The more moving parts.....blah blah blah...you know.

I spoke with Sage technical support and they felt it could be done through VI or with Microsoft task manager.    Apparently VI can be used to run a batch file with specific instructions to process a Sage task.  You can check out my ticket number 8004026825 for the article.

    Thanks for your suggestion
