AR Repetitive Invoice or SO Repeating Order

I want to use the AR repetitive Invoice feature because it will allow me to set a start and stop billing date and it tracks last billed and times billed.  However, I can not use the AR repetitive Invoice when inventory lines need to be added to the order.

The SO Repetitive order does not have the control to start or stop the billing, nor does it track the number of times a repetitive order has been invoiced.

I would like to find a solution for the sales order module that works as the AR repetitive invoice feature functions.  How can this problem be resolved????

  • I have done something similar to this for a client.  A script runs in the morning before the business day to generate the day's invoices. This is generated from data in the sales order entry repetitive order.  Once the order is fulfilled, the order can be renewed or deleted (cancelled).  The users go in and print out and post the invoices each day.  Since the script runs every single day, batches can be generated on Saturday and Sunday and posted on Monday.

This would be done with the Business Objects Interface.  This is for a contract scenario; I'm not sure what your scenario is.

  • I think the Sales Order Repeating Order will work. I now need to figure a way to calculate how many times the Repeating Order has been invoiced, and have it show on the entry screen. Thanks and let me know if you have any ideas on this....
  • How about a master order that decreases the outstanding order each time.  When you hit zero, you are done?
  • This is also one of those areas where there are enough differences between SO and AR invoices that it becomes irratating that there is not more commonality between the two modules.  I would love to see bill to address information in AR invoicing stored in the AR history file.  Incredibly (and sadly), it is not!  Having the SO repeating orders have a summary to display the number of times it has repeated would be very helpful also.
