We have been receiving a significant volume of calls in Support with the following error with machines and servers running Avast! Antivirus. In any tasks that contain grids the following error is received:
Error in Definition of Screen Item (NameOfPanel)
Error 15: Operating System Command Failed
It appears that Avast! Updated their virus definitions (we believe on 10/27/2013) to include the MAS90/Home/PVXGrid.DLL as a possible threat. It is important to take the following steps within any network environment that has Avast! running on workstations or Servers:
- Setup Exclusions within any installation of Avast! to include the \MAS90 folder
- Restore the MAS90/Home/PVXGrid.dll file from backup if necessary
If no backup is available, Sage 100 ERP Support can provide a copy of this file. Reinstalling Sage 100 ERP will also replace this file. Sage 100 ERP Support recommends making daily backups of the entire \MAS90 folder.
The issue has been reported to Avast! Antivirus and a resolution should follow from their end shortly.
