But a little prep can be the key to a successful (and hopefully less stressful) year-end. Here are five things you can do now to get ready:
- Backup your data.
If you are not using a cloud version of Sage software, then having a recent backup is important for many reasons—theft, natural disasters, and hard drive failures, to name a few. Like changing the batteries in your smoke detectors, add backing up your data to your year-end prep checklist. - Update your software.
Tax updates, for example, are often designed to work with the latest release. If you're not using a cloud version of Sage software, you can save time and take advantage of the most recent updates and improvements by downloading the current version now. - Get familiar with the year-end information you’ll need to pull.
Tax forms, payroll statements, and financial documents—get a head start by finding out what reports you’ll need and how to run them. - Keep your Sage Knowledgebase login information handy.
